With the increase of number of channels in modern detectors the amount of experimental data puts strong constrains on capabilities and on price per channel value of the data acquisition system. The future project in ground-based gamma ray astronomy (CTA - Cherenkov Telescope Array) will consist of about 100 telescopes. Every telescope will have an imaging camera with more then 2000 channels and will have a rate of more then 500Hz. The conventional fast ADC/FADC readout systems are power consuming, non-compact and expensive.

Here we present a possible alternative to the ADC readout system. The analog electrical signals from the detector channel converted to the optical signals and fed to optical fibers, which are bundled to fiber optic plate and coupled to the intensified CMOS camera with gated image intensifier, which is used as an ultra-fast shutter system. The system is triggered with external trigger and makes a photo of the fiber optic plate, when the fast optical signals are arriving to it's surface.
