Neutrino point source search with IceCube 22-strings — •Jose Luis Bazo Alba — DESY, Platanenallee 6, D-15738 Zeuthen
IceCube 22-strings data has been analyzed to search for extraterrestrial point sources of neutrinos. The declination range from -5 to 85 degrees has been scanned in the TeV-PeV energy region using 276 days of IceCube lifetime. The results of two main methods (binned and unbinned maximum likelihood) are presented. No neutrino point source is found from the individual directions of a pre-selected source catalogue nor in a search extended to the northern sky. The new limits show a factor of 2 improvement over that of the total statistics collected with the AMANDA-II detector and represent the best results to date.
