Simulation studies for KM3NeT — •Rezo Shanidze — Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics (ECAP), Erlangen University, Erwin-Rommel-Str. 1, 91058 Erlangen
KM3NeT is a future European deep-sea research infrastructure in the Mediterranean Sea, which will host the world’s most sensitive high-energy neutrino telescope. The Design Study for the KM3NeT infrastructure is supported by the EU in FP6 and started in 2006. The KM3NeT consortium, which is formed by the ANTARES, NEMO and NESTOR collaborations as well as marine science and technology institutes, is currently investigating two design options for the final document of the Design Study, the KM3NeT technical design report (TDR). These options and the results of corresponding Monte Carlo studies will be presented and discussed.
Supported by EU, contract no. 011937
