New Results of EPOS High Energy Hadronic Interaction Model — •Tanguy Pierog1 and Klaus Werner2 — 1Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Institut für Kernphysik, Deutschland — 2SUBATECH, University of Nantes, France
Recently a new hadronic interaction model EPOS has been introduced in air shower simulation programs. This model has originally been used to analyse hadron-hadron as well as heavy ion physics at RHIC and SPS energies, and it gives a large increase in the number of muons produced by air shower at ground as compared to the former models. In order to be compatible with KASCADE measurements, this imply a low inelastic p-air cross-section leading to a deeper depth of shower maximum. New EPOS results for LHC and air shower predictions will be presented.
