Ks0 and Λ production in p+p and p+Nb collisions at 3.5 GeV with HADES — •Alexander Prehn — TU München, 85748 Garching
To contribute to the understanding of the kaon- and Λ-nucleon potential, Ks0-mesons and Λ-hyperons produced in p+p and p+Nb reactions at 3.5 GeV incoming energy at the HADES experiment were reconstructed. The HADES spectrometer operates at the heavy-ion synchrotron SIS at GSI in Darmstadt. An overall statistic of 1.2 · 109 and 4.2 · 109 reactions has been recorded respectively in the two reactions.
A total of about 100.000 Ks0 and 200.000 Λ were reconstructed for the p+p reaction, about 500.000 Ks0 are found for p+Nb. In particular the low pt range, down to 50 MeV/c, was accessible via this measurement, providing an interesting tool to compare the meson behavior in p-p and p-nucleus reactions.
First analysis results will be presented for both systems.
