A Kinematic Refit for an analysis improvement at HADES — •Johannes Siebenson — TU Muenchen
In April 2007 pp-reactions at 3.5 GeV were measured with the HADES-Spectrometer at GSI. In these elementary reactions, one can reconstruct resonances via the missing mass technique.
The kinematic refit has been employed to recalculate the momentum of measured tracks in exclusive reactions by the assumption of physical constraints.
This well known procedure, can improve dramatically both the invariant- and missing- mass distributions, increasing in this way the signal to background ratio.
The mathematical procedure underlying the kinematic fit will be presented, as well as experimental results achieved for the reconstruction of the η and ω mesons and the Σ(1385)+-resonance.
