(Ξ0Λ)b-dibaryon detectability study in the CBM experiment — •Iouri Vassiliev — Institut für Kernphysik, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt
Recent experimental evidence suggested that the hypothetic H-dibaryon (uuddss, I=J=0) possibly exists and this provides the motivation to continue experimental search for it. The CBM setup gives an opportunity to detect H-dibaryons decay via the Λ Λ channel using predicted strange H-dibaryons decay length of cτ ≈ 1-5 cm. Λs decay length is 7.89 cm and this allows to reconstruct the event topology and effectively distinguish the signal from the background.
To study the feasibility of H-dibaryons detection in the CBM experiment a set of 104 central Au+Au UrQMD events at 25 AGeV have been simulated. (Ξ0Λ)b decay (cτ = 3 cm) to Λ Λ has been forced and added to each event in order to simulate the signal in the environment of background hadrons. The main part of the background is created by the 32 primary Λ particles produced per central UrQMD event. Strategy of background suppression and signal selection is discuss.
