Generation of radiative top quark processes with WHIZARD — I. Fleck, W. Kilian, and •M. Rammes — Universität Siegen
By the investigation of radiative top quark processes where a photon is emitted by the top quark or its decay products, new possibilities open up regarding the measurement of the electric charge or even the form factors of the top quark. Since Monte Carlo generators with fixed process lists implemented are not capable of generating such a radiative process, an automatic matrix element generator is required to create ttγ (bW+bW−γ) final states. We are comparing the results of different Monte Carlo generators, focussing on the WHIZARD generator; are pointing out differences concerning their functionalities and will present the impact of those aspects on the spectra of important observables of radiative top quark processes. Furthermore, we will describe the problem of double counting of photons due to the fragmentation in Phythia.
