Early results and performance of the ATLAS Inner Detector — •Till Eifert — CERN, Geneva
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva, started operating with colliding beams at a reduced centre-of-mass energy of 900 GeV in the end of 2009. The ATLAS experiment, one of the general-purpose detectors at the LHC, was fully operational and recorded first collision data. In this talk, I will present early results of the ATLAS Inner Detector. The focus will be on V0s, i.e. Kaons, Lambdas, and conversions, which have been produced in large numbers. Furthermore, I will discuss some aspects of tracking performance observed and obtained using the V0s. In particular, track reconstruction efficiencies and the effects of misalignment will be addressed.
