Development and Production of a G.E.M. based TPC readout module — •Sabato Stefano Caiazza — Desy, Notkestr. 85, 22607, Hamburg
To cope with the experimental conditions at the ILC we are developing a new readout system for large TPCs based on the new Micro Pattern Gas Detector technologies. At DESY we built a Large TPC Prototype that can be readout with up to 7 independent modules. The presentation will describe the efforts that came into play in the development and building of one of those modules, based on the Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) technology, introducing the main features of this new design and the first measurements performed on and with this module.
