Upgrade simulation of the ATLAS detector for SLHC — •Sergio Grancagnolo — CERN Geneve 23 Switzerland
The upgrade of LHC to SLHC (super-LHC) will increase the instantaneous luminosity to 10E35. Good efficiency and resolution for signal tracks and high rejection capability for combinatorial and spurious background is required, in an harsh environment coming from the expected number of 400 pile-up events. In this presentation, few different possible upgrade layouts will be investigated, using simulations integrated in the ATLAS software, showing weakness and advantages of the different solutions.
