Evaluation of ATLAS Pixel Sensors at SuperLHC ConditionsClaus Gößling, Silke Herbst, Reiner Klingenberg, Daniel Muenstermann, •André Rummler, Georg Troska, Tobias Wittig, and Renate Wunstorf — TU Dortmund, Experimentelle Physik IV, D-44221 Dortmund

ATLAS is a multi-purpose detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). After the planned upgrade to SuperLHC, the pixel detector as the innermost part of the ATLAS tracker will have to withstand equivalent neutron fluences of up to 2·1016 neqcm−2.
We determined the characteristics of silicon pixel devices (SingleChips) irradiated either with 26 MeV protons at Karlsruhe or with reactor neutrons at Ljubljana. The SingleChips that were used implement an n+-in-n-bulk design and were taken from qualified ATLAS production wafers. The sensors are bumpbonded to standard FE-I3 readout electronics, which were irradiated together with the sensors. Charge collection efficiency (CCE) studies on those sensors are primarily motivated by the charge amplification effect observed previously in strip detectors at such high fluences. Results gained with β-electrons from a 90Sr source as well as first results obtained during the PPS fall 2009 testbeam campaign will be presented.
