Squark and gluino production at hadron colliders — •Anna Kulesza — RWTH Aachen University
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is one the most promising candidates for the theory of physics beyond the Standard Model. If SUSY is realized in Nature, it is widely expected to be discovered at the LHC. Searches for supersymmetry currently undertaken by the Tevatron experiments provide limits on the masses of the SUSY particles. The dominant production channels of SUSY particles at hadron colliders are those involving pairs of supersymmetric partners of quarks and gluons, i.e. squarks and gluinos, in the final state.
In this talk the status of theoretical calculations for squark and gluino production at hadron colliders will be reviewed. A special emphasis will be put on the impact of higher-order QCD effects on the total cross sections for squark and gluino hadroproduction, estimated recently with the help of resummation techniques.
