The plasma chemical reactions of C2H4/N2, C2H6/N2, C2H4/Ar and C2H6/Ar have been investigated through mass spectroscopy in a laboratory dielectric barrier discharge at an atmospheric pressure of 300 mbar. In this work, we investigate the possible plasma chemical reactions playing a role in Titan’s atmosphere. The main results that we have obtained so far are related to the production of H2, formation of higher order hydrocarbons such as CnHm with n ≤ 12, and the formation of CN films on the electrodes by the fragmentation of C2H4/N2 and C2H6/N2 gases.
