Anomalous transport in porous media III: Anomalous immiscible displacement — •Florian Doster1 and Rudolf Hilfer1,2 — 1Institute for Computational Physics, University of Stuttgart, 70569 Stuttgart, Germany — 2Institute for Physics, University of Mainz, 55099 Mainz, Germany
Two phase immiscible fluid displacement in porous media shows several anomalies when compared with experiments. The standard model has been extended by distinguishing percolating and nonpercolating phases [1]. In one dimension the theory reduces to a set of ten coupled nonlinear partial differential equations. In this contribution we present numerical simulations based on a judicious coice of abnormal diffusion terms. The numerical diffusion terms are needed to stabilize the nonlinear system of partial differential equations [2,3].
