Angular dependence of the tunneling anisotropic magnetoresistance — •Alex Matos-Abiague, Martin Gmitra, and Jaroslav Fabian — Univesrity of Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany
A phenomenological model in which the tunneling anisotropic magnetoresistance (TAMR) effect originates from the presence of spin-orbit interaction is developed. The model is based on general symmetry considerations and reveals the dependence of the TAMR in tunnel junctions with a single magnetic lead on the magnetization orientation. Some relevant cases of spin-orbit interaction induced by structure and/or bulk inversion asymmetries are investigated.
