In the past years, several unusual features of the insulating state terminating superconductivity in strongly disordered superconducting films have been revealed. We investigate low-temperature transport properties of thin TiN films on the insulating side of the superconductor-insulator transition (SIT). At higher temperature, T≥ 50 mK, we observe a thermally activated conductance with activation energy EA/kb=0.5 K. At lower temperatures, IV measurements show a threshold voltage VT, below which the conductance is orders of magnitudes lower. Activation energy EA and threshold VT depend in a non-monotonic way on magnetic field and moreover on the orientation of the magnetic field. The influence of electron heating on the switching mechanism is investigated. We explore the B-Field driven SIT in parallel and perpendicular field.
