A high precision flat histogram Monte Carlo method is employed to calculate the order parameter distribution p(m) of the 2D Ising model for a specified lattice size L and temperature T. Periodic, free and fixed boundary conditions are considered in our simulations. Universal forms of the p(m) at temperatures below, above and at the ciritical point Tc are extracted and analyzed from the finite lattice simulations. The critical order parameter distribution is a function of the boundary condition unlike the p(m) at temperatures away from Tc. Fat stretched exponential tails are seen in p(m) for all the three boundary conditions at Tc corroborating previous analytical predictions [1]. The simulations provide the best converged critical order parameter universal scaling functions for periodic, free and fixed boundary conditions available at present.
