The morphology and the magnetic structure of a Fe monolayer (ML) on Ir(001)-(1$\times$1) were investigated using a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope (STM) operating in the constant-current mode with nonmagnetic and magnetic tips, respectively. Our STM studies with atomic resolution confirm pseudomorphic growth of Fe in the first layer [1,2], where our spin-resolved measurements identify a spin contrast with a 3 $\times$ 3 superstructure. As the magneto-optical Kerr-effect study [2] and the first-principles calculations [3] indicate that the first ML of Fe on Ir(001)-(1$\times$1) tends to order antiferromagnetically, we propose a noncollinear antiferromagnetic spin configuration of the Fe ML based on the spin contrast mapping.
