The single layer manganite LaSrMnO4 as an antiferromagnetic insulator was under numerous investigations in the last decade. Due to its layered structure, LaSrMnO4 shows anisotropic electrical resistivity. Epitaxial thin films with extremely smooth surfaces were deposited on different substrates such as NdGaO3 and NdAlO3 by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) to reveal the influence of strain on the magneto-electrical properties.
