PMT quantum efficiency measurements — Björn Herold, •Oleg Kalekin, and Jonas Reubelt — ECAP, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erwin-Rommel-Strasse 1, 91058 Erlangen
The KM3NeT project aims at designing and constructing a neuitrino telescope of several cubic kilometres of instrumented water volume in the Mediterranean Sea. Different photomultiplier (PMT) types, including PMTs with enhanced photocathode quantum efficiency (QE), are considered as candidates for the telescope's optical modules. A test bench for QE measurements has been set up in the Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics. Systematic effects in such measurements caused by stray light in the monochromator has been investigated. The results of QE measurements are presented for several PMTs.
Supported through the EU, FP6 Contract no. 011937 and FP7 grant agreement no. 212252.
