(contribution withdrawn)Energy flow in the forward regions of CMS — Alexander Flossdorf, Albert Knutsson, Hannes Jung, Panos Katsas, Mira Kraemer, and •Niladri Sen — DESY, Hamburg, Germany
We report on the measurement of the energy flow, dE/dη, in the very forward pseudorapidity region (3.15 < |η| < 4.9) of CMS (compact muon solenoid detector) at the LHC. The measurement is done for proton-proton collisions at different center-of-mass energies, √s = 0.9 TeV, 2.36 TeV and 7 TeV. The forward energy flow is measured for minimum bias events and for events with the presence of two central jets whose transverse energy provides a hard scale. I will present the experimental results corrected from detector to hadron level and will show the comparison to various Monte Carlo models and tunes which incorporate different multi-parton interaction schemes.
