Jet associated D Meson Production at CMS — •Ivan Glushkov, Andreas Meyer, Alexei Raspereza, and Roberval Walsh — Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY, Notkestraße 85, 22607 Hamburg, Germany

The current study was performed within the B-tagging framework utilized by Higgs boson searches at CMS experiment with beauty in its the final state. Jet associated charm meson production yields were calculated exploiting the decay channels D⁰ → K^∓π^±; D^± → K^∓π^±π^±; D^*(2010)^± → D⁰π^±, D⁰ → K^∓π^±; D_s^± → ϕ⁰π^±, ϕ → K^±K^∓. The LHC proton-proton collision data collected by CMS in 2010 were compared with the Monte Carlo prediction.

The results of the current study are of critical importance for tuning of the CMS b-tagging algorithms as well as for determination of inclusive and jet associated charm mesons* production cross sections.
