The Large Hadron Collider has started to provide top-pair events. Precision measurements in the top-quark sector will soon allow to search for new physics. Various models beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of heavy particles decaying into top pairs. These particles manifest themselves as resonant structures in the invariant mass spectrum of the top pairs.
Here we present search strategies for top-pair resonances at CMS. The analysis considers top-pair events at a centre-of-mass energy of √s=10 TeV in the muon+jets channel, in which the final state is one muon, MET, and four jets (quarks).
