Search for Supersymmetry with taus and missing transverse energy in ATLAS — •Carolin Zendler, Klaus Desch, Peter Wienemann, and Till Nattermann — Uni Bonn
Final states involving tau leptons are favoured in many models of Supersymmetry (SUSY) and often provide unique information about the underlying SUSY model. However, due to the rapid decay and broad decay spectrum of the tau lepton, such final states are particularly challenging in the LHC environment, commanding a good understanding of the detector performance as well as control of all backgrounds. Here, events with at least two identified tau leptons are studied in both Monte Carlo simulation and the first year data recorded by the ATLAS detector, with a special eye on R-parity conserving mSUGRA-like scenarios.
