Nowadays applications of atmospheric pressure plasma treatment for surface cleaning and activation are hot topics of applied plasma research. The main reason is easy applicability of atmospheric pressure plasmas to industrial technological processing. Also aluminium is one of the most widely used metal materials for many industrial branches, like ship or airplane industries. An important issue of plasma treatment is its non-permanent character, usually called aging effect. Unfortunately, there is a lack of works studying this process in detail. In current work, results about aging behavior of aluminium surface treated by atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge plasma are presented. The Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge plasma source is used as an atmospheric pressure plasma for surface treatment. The influence of different aging environment (like dry and wet ambient air, vacuum and water storage) on the aging effect will be presented and discussed.
