Test measurements with a pixelated silicon detector and a diode for microbeam dosimetry purposes — •Philipp Schroegel1, Adrian Schmidt1, Michael Boehnel2, and Ulrike Gebert2 — 1ECAP, Hadron Physics Group, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg — 2ECAP, Novel Detectors/Medical Physics Group, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg
The radiobiological measurement station at the vertical beam of the Erlangen Tandem Van-de-Graaff accelerator is currently equipped with scintillation detectors for dosimetry purposes. The data is calibrated with simulation results to gain the energy information. While the scintillation detectors offer a high rate stability and surface, more detailed radiobiological investigations of DNA damage along the tracks of low-energy protons require a detection system with higher energy and spatial resolution.
Spectroscopic test measurements of a multi-isotope alpha emitter have been conducted with the pixelated silicon detector Timepix and a surface barrier diode to investigate the energy resolution of the detectors and feasibility for the usage at the radiobiological measurement station.
