Measurement of polarization observables Is and Ic in the reaction γ→p→ p π0 π0 with the CBELSA/TAPS experiment — •Vahe Sokhoyan — Helmholtz-Institut für Strahlen und Kernphysik, Nussallee 14-16, 53115 Bonn
To unambiguously identify baryon resonances in photoproduction experiments the measurement
of polarization observables is of large importance. The observables Is, Ic and Σ have been measured with the CBELSA/TAPS experiment,
at the electron accelerator ELSA in Bonn using linearly polarized photons impinging on a liquid hydrogen target.
The results of the measurement will be shown in a photon
energy range from 970 to 1650 MeV as function of various kinematic variables, such as invariant masses and angles.
A comparison with predictions of the Bonn-Gatchina-partial wave analysis shows that this data provides new
constraints for the extraction of baryon resonances.
In addition, invariant mass distributions and Dalitz plots, indicating cascade-decays via excited baryons and mesons
will be discussed.
