A first experiment with a polarised 3He target was carried out in July 2009 at the MAMI accelerator in Mainz in a photon energy range between 200 and 800 MeV. The aim of this measurement was to investigate the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule on the neutron.
In this talk the development and preparation of the different components of the 3He experimetal setup will be shown. The preliminary results of the unpolarised total photoabsorption cross section and the helicity dependent photoabsorption cross section difference obtained on the 3He will be also presented.
