Thin films of high purity titanium were deposited on p-Si surface by physical vapour deposition (electron beam deposition) and followed by anodization of the deposited titanium thin film in an ethylene glycol solution at room temperature. TiO2 nanotubes are well aligned and organized into high-order uniform arrays. The morphology and crystallization of the resulting three-dimensional TiO2 nanotubes were investigated by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Current-voltage and capacitance-voltage characteristics and photo responsivity was measured for these arrays.
