Magnetotransport properties of nanoporouse gold films — •Jaqueline Weißbon, Andreas Gondorf, Martin Geller, and Axel Lorke — Faculty of Physics and CeNIDE, University of Duisburg-Essen, Lotharstraße 1, 47057 Duisburg, Germany
Nanoporous gold layers are prepared by etching thin films of Au/Ag-alloys in HNO3. The morphology of the nanoporous films is determined by scanning electron microscopy for different etching conditions. The films are patterned into Hall bar geometries and their magnetotransport properties are investigated as a function of temperature.
In the magnetic field range B = 0 − 12 T, we find a linear Hall resistance ρxy(B) and a quadratic longitudinal magnetoresistance Δ ρxx(B) ∝ B2. In the temperature range between 20 K and 350 K, we find a roughly linearly increasing specific resistance.
The results are compared with recent reports in the literature [1,2] and discussed within the Fuchs-Sonderheimer model of scattering in thin films.
