Interacting Bosonic Quantum Ratchets — •Karen Rodriguez and Achim Rosch — Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Cologne, 50937 Cologne, Germany
We study the Hamiltonian quantum ratchet dynamics of cold Bosons loaded on optical lattices. Under the influence of time-periodic space-dependent hopping and local potential, the relevant symmetries are broken leading the system to develop unidirectional transport in long term evolutions. By means of the Floquet theory and the Gutwiller wave function, we analyze the transport problem and the crucial role of the interactions on the ratchet average dc-current.
