Bosonization approach to singular low-energy contributions in the thermodynamics of Fermi liquids — •Hendrik Meier1, Catherine Pépin2,3, and Konstantin Efetov1,3 — 1Institut für Theoretische Physik III, Ruhr-Universität Bochum — 2Institut de Physique Théorique, CEA-Saclay, France — 3International Institute of Physics, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil
Applying a recently suggested method of bosonization in an arbitrary dimension [2] to the two-dimensional Fermi liquid, we derive an effective supersymmetric field theory for the low-energy spin and charge excitations emerging in the vicinity of the non-flat Fermi surface. Using this field theory to study the anomalous contribution δ c to the specific heat in the limit T→ 0, we find the leading logarithmic corrections to δ c/T2 by means of a one-loop renormalization group analysis. The final result is represented as the sum of two separate terms that can be interpreted as coming from singlet and triplet superconducting excitations.
Last, it is discussed how the bosonization method may become a useful analytical tool to study different problems
in the field of strongly correlated systems.
