Measurement of Charm and Beauty Dijet Photoproduction Cross Sections using Secondary Vertexing at ZEUS — •Ozan Arslan, Ian C. Brock, and Sebastian Mergelmeyer — University of Bonn
During the years 2005-2007, the e±p-collider HERA was operated at a centre-of-mass energy of 320 G-0.01eme-0.11emV, and provided the ZEUS detector with an integrated luminosity of L ≈ 300 pb-1. This analysis is based on photoproduction events, which are characterized by the emission of a quasi-real photon (Q2<1 G-0.01eme-0.11emV2) from the incoming lepton. The subsequent γ p-interaction is dominated by the process γ g → q q, where the two outgoing quarks give rise to two high-pT jets in the final state. The production of charm and beauty quarks was measured using the properties of their secondary vertices. Compared to similar previous analyses, the kinematic coverage was extended into the forward direction, the amount of data has been increased and the kinematics of the outgoing quarks and their correlations were investigated. The results are presented as total and differential cross sections, and compared to Monte Carlo simulations and theory predictions at next-to-leading order QCD.
