HEPTopTagger Optimisation Studies — •David Sosa, Gregor Kasieczka, Sebastian Schätzel, and André Schöning — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Heidelberg
The HEPTopTagger is an algorithm designed to identify hadronically decaying top quarks on an event-by-event basis. The performance of the HEPTopTagger is optimised by tuning internal parameters of the algorithm for the largest signal-to-background ratio and highest signal efficiency in a sample selected to contain semi-leptonic top-antitop decays.
This talk shows optimisation results obtained on Monte Carlo-simulated events which are validated using the full 2011 ATLAS dataset.
