Measurement of the exclusive B→ηℓν and B→η′ℓ ν decays with a fully reconstructed Btag with the Belle experiment. — •Cesar Beleno, Jochen Dingfelder, and Phillip Urquijo — Physikalisches Institut, Universität Bonn
The large samples of B mesons recorded with the Belle experiment at the Υ(4S) resonance allow for studies of the CKM-suppressed b→ u quark transition in various exclusive decay modes. In this talk the first analysis of B+→ ηℓ+ ν and B+ → η′ℓ+ ν decays with the Belle experiment is presented. A data sample of approximately 710 fb−1 of integrated luminosity is utilized. The η meson is reconstructed in two decay channels: η→γγ and η→ π+π−π0. The η′ meson is reconstructed in the η′→ (η→γγ)π+π− channel. One of the two B mesons from the Υ(4S) resonance is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, consequently the properties of the other B meson can be inferred from conservation laws. The branching fractions are extracted by using an extended maximum likelihood method to the distribution of the missing mass squared in the event. The preliminary results are more precise than previous tagged measurements of these decays.
