Multivariate analysis for the search HWW(*) → ℓ ν ℓ′ ν′
with the ATLAS Detector
— •Manuela Venturi, Christian Weiser, and Karl Jakobs — Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet, Freiburg, Deutschland

After two years of LHC operation, ATLAS has achieved excellent sensitivity over a large part of the allowed mass range for a Standard Model Higgs boson. In particular, the channel HWW(*) → ℓ ν ℓ′ ν′, with ℓ,ℓ′=e,µ, is providing the most stringent results at low masses, 110 < MH<200 GeV.

In order to take into account correlations between variables, and to fully exploit their discriminating power between signal and background, multivariate analysis tools, such as Boosted Decision Tree (BDT) and Neural Network, have been used.

Results obtained with a BDT analysis of the whole 2011 dataset, corresponding to 4.7 fb−1, at a center-of-mass energy of √s=7 TeV, will be presented.
