Direct stop production searches in lepton and b-jet final states with the ATLAS Detector — •Francesca Consiglia Ungaro, Thomas Barber, Claudia Giuliani, Iacopo Vivarelli, Stefan Winkelmann, and Karl Jakobs — Albert-Ludwigs-Universität, Freiburg, Deutschland

Since the beginning of the LHC data taking, many efforts have been dedicated to Supersymmetry (SUSY) searches, one of the most promising theories extending the Standard Model. Due to large mixing between generations, scenarios are possible in which the 3rd generation squarks are light, and therefore produced copiously at the LHC. Searches for these scenarios have recently gained sensitivity due to the increase in data collected by the ATLAS experiment.

In this contribution I will discuss the results of direct stop pair production searches, performed on the data collected by ATLAS in 2011 at a center of mass energy of √s = 7 TeV. I will focus on events containing missing transverse energy, due to the presence in the final state of the lightest SUSY particle (LSP), one or two leptons and b-tagged jets, a crucial requirement for background suppression.
