VERITAS Observations of Markarian 421 & 501 — •Roman Welsing — DESY, Platanenallee 6, 15738 Zeuthen
Markarian 421 and 501 are among the brightest high frequency peaked BL-Lac Objects (HBL) in the TeV sky of the northern hemisphere. As such, they allow us to study the physical processes responsible for their gamma-ray emission in great detail. Therefore those objects, as part of a coordinated multi-wavelength (MWL) campaign, have been observed with the VERITAS Telescopes in southern Arizona for more than 10 hrs each during the 2010/2011 season. The physics results, including spectra, lightcurves and variability studies, of the 2010/2011 observations are presented.
