Energylosses in PROPOSAL — •Katharina Frantzen — TU Dortmund, Dortmund, Deutschland
Data Analysis in IceCube requires exact calculations of ranges of particles in matter. The Monte Carlo program MMC (Muon Monte Carlo) is used until today. A further development of MMC is PROPOSAL (PRopagator with Optimal Precision and Optimized Speed for All Leptons) written in C++. In this talk the implemented cross sections and new parametrizations are presented and compared to the standard parametrizations. Ranges and final energies of particles with different settings are calculated.
