Time-dependent search for neutrino multifare sources in the IceCube 59-string data — •Dariusz Gora1,2, Elisa Bernardini1, and Angel Cruz Silva11DESY, D-15738 Zeuthen, Germany — 2Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN, Radzikowskiego 152, 31-342 Cracow, Poland

A time-dependent search for neutrino flares from pre-defined directions in the whole sky is presented. The analysis uses a time-clustering algorithm combined with an unbinned maximum likelihood method. By including a likelihood signal term describing the contribution of several small clusters of signal-like events, this algorithm provides an effective way for looking for weak neutrino flares at different time-scales. The event selection is optimized to maximize the discovery potential for the IceCube 59-string (IC59) detector configuration. Sources are being selected based on data in the 0.1 to 100 GeV energy range as provided by the Fermi satellite. Subsequently, periods of interest based on electromagnetic data are scanned with the developed algorithm on large time scales.
