Metallized polymers offer a broad range of applications in many fields of technology[1], including optical and electronic devices and magnetic recording media. Here we present a Kinetic Monte Carlo approach to simulate the coupled processes of diffusion and growth of metal clusters in nanocomposites[2]. Special emphasis is placed on the cluster growth, cluster size distribution and the penetration of clusters into the polymer matrix under different deposition conditions (deposition of metal atoms on a polymer surface and co-deposition of metal and polymer). Furthermore we also present preliminary results of the simulation of the self-organization of nanocolumns[3] during the co-deposition of metal atoms and the polymer matrix.
