Radially resolved Kα spectra of argon using the new W7-X imaging Bragg spectrometer at the tokamak TEXTOR — •Tobias Schlummer1, Oleksandr Marchuk1, Günter Bertschinger1, Wolfgang Biel1, Rainer Burhenn2, Detlev Reiter1, and the TEXTOR Team11Institut für Energie- und Klimaforschung - Plasmaphysik, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Jülich — 2Max-Planck-Institut für Plasmaphysik, Greifswald

A new compact imaging Bragg spectrometer, developed for the stellarator W7-X and optimized for measuring Kα spectra of He-like impurity ions, has been installed and successfully tested at the tokamak TEXTOR. The high spatial and wavelength resolution of the obtained argon spectra demonstrates an excellent operation performance for future use at W7-X. Six different channels featuring a two dimensional CCD detector chip each provide radial profiles of the ion and electron temperature as well as the poloidal rotation. The measured temperatures are compared to data from charge exchange recombination spectroscopy and electron cyclotron emission. Furthermore the spectrometer is used to study the ionization balance of H-, He-, and Li-like argon in TEXTOR plasmas which is affected by charge-exchange recombination due to neutral heating beams and recycling neutrals*. The comparison between theoretical models and the experimental data are presented and discussed in detail. * G. Bertschinger and O. Marchuk, R. E. H. Clark (Ed.), D. H.
