Ultrafast Electron Diffraction (UED) has lately become
one of the most promising techniques to directly provide insights
into fundamental dynamics in solids at the microscopic level and on
the pico-
to subpicosecond timescale [1].
In this contribution we present an optimized compact and self-referencing UED-setup to reach a high spatial and temporal resolution. Additionally we present first results in time-resolved diffraction experiments.
