Search for resonant production of smuons in RPV SUSY with the CMS experiment at s = 8 TeV — •Markus Radziej, Matthias Endres, Andreas Güth, Thomas Hebbeker, Arnd Meyer, Lars Sonnenschein, Sebastian Thüer, Daniel Teyssier, and Martin Weber — III. Physikalisches Institut A, RWTH Aachen

The topic of this talk will be the search for resonant production of smuons, which decay into a two muon, two jets final state. These lepton number violating processes arise within supersymmetry models where R-parity is violated. While in most models R-parity is assumed to be conserved to prevent rapid proton decay, there are alternatives such as the baryon-triality model used in this analysis.
The particular final state of two muons and two jets is refined by demanding the same charge of the two muons. This requirement allows for a significant and efficient increase of the signal to background ratio. The data this search is based on has been recorded by the CMS experiment in 2012 at a center-of-mass energy of √s = 8 TeV; preliminary results will be shown.
