Search for New Phenomena in Dijet Events with Angular Analysis at the ATLAS Experiment — •Markus Archinger and Stefan Tapprogge — Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz
In the ATLAS Experiment an important goal is the search for new phenomena in proton proton collisions using the two jets of the highest transverse momentum, named dijet events. The motivation of an angular analysis is to find new physics beyond the Standard Model or in the absence of deviations to set limits on model parameters. It offers good sensitivity to new phenomena, as the dependence on uncertanties of the jet energy determination is small. The full dataset of 8 TeV proton proton collisions at the LHC with an integrated luminosity of about 20 fb−1 is used. In this talk the motivation as well as the data selection, the comparison with the Standard Model prediction and the status of the search will be presented.
