Search for Lepton Flavor Violation in Z-boson decays with the CMS experiment — Vladimir Cherepanov, Günter Flügge, Bastian Kargoll, •Alexander Nehrkorn, Ian M. Nugent, Lars Perchalla, and Achim Stahl — III. Physikalisches Institut B, RWTH Aachen
Neutrino oscillation has been confirmed by several experiments, making Lepton Flavor Violation an empirical fact. However, evidence for the Flavor Violation of charged leptons has yet to be found. From neutrino oscillation, one predicts extremely small branching ratios for such decays. In the context of physics beyond the Standard Model these ratios can be greatly enhanced. Thus, they might be measurable at the LHC. In this talk, a model independent search for Lepton Flavor Violating Z-boson decays with the CMS experiment is presented.
