Heavy quarks in precision measurements at the LHC — •Isabella Bierenbaum — II. Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Hamburg
With the energies reached by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) the treatment of heavy quarks in precision measurements becomes an important issue. This raises questions for example about the treatment of (soft) infrared divergences in the presence of massive quarks, ways to calculate massive loop Feynman diagrams with several external legs, the definition of parton distribution functions for heavy quarks, etc. In this talk, I will address and explain some of these important issues and give possible answers.
