A pressure study of CePt3B — •Daniela Rauch1, Steffen Hartwig1,2, Stefan Süllow1, Hiroyuki Hidaka3, Seigo Yamazaki3, Hiroshi Amitsuka3, and Ernst Bauer41Institute of Condensed Matter Physics, University of Technology Braunschweig, Braunschweig, Germany — 2BENSC, Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin, Berlin, Germany — 3Department of Physics, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan — 4Institute of Solid State Physics, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria

CePt3B is isostructural to the non-centro symmetric heavy-fermion superconductor CePt3Si. In contrast to the latter system, CePt3B exhibits a complex magnetically ordered state at low temperatures, with an antiferromagnetic phase below TN = 7.8 K and a weakly ferromagnetic transition below TC≈5 K. As demonstrated in Ref. [1] CePt3B can be understand as a low pressure variant of CePt3Si.

Here we report a study of CePt3B by means of high pressure magnetization measurements, this way in particular accessing the pressure evolution of the ferromagnetic transition temperature TC. From our investigation up to about 40 kbar we observe an almost constant transition temperature TC with pressure. This behavior we will discuss in the context of alloying studies on this material.
