A relativistic implementation of the non-equilibrium Green’s function formalism for layered systems — •S Wimmer1, M Ogura2, H Akai2, and H Ebert1 — 1Department Chemie, Ludwig-Maximilians-Univeristät München — 2Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University
The non-equilibrium Green’s function formalism has been implemented within the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker (KKR) multiple scattering theory following previous work [1,2]. First results for the transport in layered systems are
presented and compared to available results of other authors [1–3]. Using a fully relativistic approach
within the Dirac-formalism allows us to investigate the influence of spin-orbit coupling. This will be discussed for
various transport properties including the spin-transfer torque.
